A flip book is a book with a series of pictures that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion

How does my video become a flipbook?

A video file is no more than a sequence of images moving at a typical 24 to 30 images (frames) per second.

We take your video, break out the frames and convert a selected number of frames to printed images.

VIDEO TERMS

Pixel Dimension

The horizontal and vertical measurements of an image or video frame expressed in pixels.

Pixel dimension is a multiple of the video's aspect ratio.

Frames Per Second (fps)

FPS is the frame rate and determines how many frames are projected per second. A video shot in 24fps displays 24 frames per second.

Duration

This is the length of your video.

Timecode

Timecode allow a video player to match each frame to a unit of time so that while the video is playing a Time sequence can be displayed in hh:mm:ss format.

Aspect Ratio

The aspect ratio of an image or video frame is its width divided by its height.

The 2 most common aspect ratio are 4:3, aka Letter Box, and 16:9, aka Widescreen.

File Type

The last 3 letters after the '.' of your filename determines the file type of your video.

e.g. sportsflip.mov

REQUIREMENTS

What type of video files can I use?

We support most major file types:

avi  mov  wmv  mpeg  mp4  asf  and more.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Please keep your file size under 50 MB.

How long must my video be in order to create a replay™?

We require a minimum of 10 seconds of video footage with a maximum length of 30 seconds.

Will any pixel resolution work?

Technically, as long as we can extract the frames from your video file, we can print it.

However, we suggest a minimum pixel dimension of 320x240. Higher pixel dimension results in sharper prints. There is no need to go over 720x480.

Will any aspect ratio work?

Yes. We work with all aspect ratios. Letterbox, widescreen, etc.
